African American Family Day

On behalf of the UCLA-LAUSD Collaborative African American Family Day Committee, we would like to invite you attend the Fourth Annual African American Family Day 2016! This event is an opportunity for families from Hamilton, Fairfax, University, Santee, Venice, Manual Arts, Rancho Dominguez, Westchester, Dorsey, Webster, Pio Pico and John Muir to participate in a friendly, informative setting in a day full of exciting workshops, special guests, entertainment, and a college fair. Parent and student survey requests have helped us to prepare workshop topics and services that will help all of our African American students reach their full potential. pdf-iconView Flyer

Immediately following breakfast, you can choose from any number of helpful workshops, led by experienced, knowledgeable presenters. If it’s too hard just to choose one workshop, no problem! The workshops will be followed by lunch and a keynote and a guest speaker. In addition to resources to assist parents, there will be gift bags and a raffle. There are additional workshops and entertainment scheduled for students, and we will provide babysitting for children too young to participate. If that’s not enough, there will also be an exciting college fair, attended by representatives from CSU, UC, Community College, HBCU, and Private college and universities. In all, it’s a full day of events and services that we know you’ll enjoy and appreciate. Below, please find additional details for your information and consideration.
